    Summer Programme 2025

Get ready for a ‘Summer of Art’

Kensington Arts is set to ignite imaginations once again with its exciting 2025 Summer Programme, a vibrant celebration of creativity, curiosity, and community designed to engage young people through art, dance, writing, media, and more.

This year’s ‘Summer of Art’ brings together a rich blend of workshops inspired by storytelling, the natural world, and cross-disciplinary exploration. With sessions for budding artists, aspiring animators, future choreographers, and fiction-loving writers, the programme offers a creative escape for every young mind.

Creative Development Co-ordinator, Emma Goodson, said: “Whether you’re into dance, writing, painting, or, you’re not sure yet but want to give it a go, this summer is all about fun, creativity, and trying new things. There’s something really special about seeing young people connect through creativity, sharing ideas, getting messy, and discovering new skills along the way. For summer 2025 we’ve designed a programme that’s playful, accessible and full of variety, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone through the doors.”

Junior Art Tank – The 5 Elements of Nature

Saturday-Sunday from Sat 2nd to Sun 31st August (Ages 7-11)

The popular ‘Elements of Nature’ series returns, bigger and bolder than ever. This time, participants will journey through the elemental forces of Fire, Water, Earth, Air, and the newly introduced Ether. Held across weekends throughout the summer, these element themed workshops encourage younger artists to explore colour, form, and material through hands-on projects inspired by the world around us.

Art Tank – Multidisciplinary Workshops for Young Artists

Wednesday 13th and Thursday 14th August (Ages 10-16)

Designed for older participants, these flexible morning and afternoon sessions can be booked individually or as full days of creativity.

Workshops include:

Media: Lost and Found – The Adventures of a Missing Sock
Young creatives will dive into the world of visual storytelling and stop-motion animation, bringing quirky characters to life frame by frame.

Print: Passport to Art – Art from Around the World
Bookmaking, linocuts, stamps, and mono prints, all inspired by global art traditions in a playful, exploratory format.

Mixed Media: Biobots and Eco Critters – Science, Alchemy and Sculpture
From slime and clay to alchemical experiments and 3D sculptures, this is where art gets wild, messy, and wonderfully weird.

Paint: Twisted Tales – Folk Stories and Fairy Tales Reimagined
With paint as their main medium, participants will rework classic tales and invent their own through whimsical and surreal compositions.

Young Writers Workshop – Curious Characters

Monday 11th August (Ages 10-16)

In this 3-hour creative writing workshop, young authors can explore the art of crafting compelling non-human characters, from sci-fi creatures to mysterious beasts. Through discussion and writing exercises, they’ll examine how environment, traits, and imagination shape the characters they create.

You KAn Dance – Summer Dance Week

Monday 11th to Friday 15th August (Ages 8-16)

Stretch, leap, and glide through a week of movement-based workshops exploring Ballet, Contemporary, and Lyrical dance styles in a supportive, energetic environment. Brand new to dance? No problem! This workshop is designed to be a welcoming, low-pressure space for young people. There’s no need to be a confident dancer yet, participants are encouraged to move at their own pace, and discover new ways to express themselves through movement and music.

Youth SoundCheck

Tuesday 26th – Friday 29th August (Ages 11-17)

An exciting week of workshops where for young musicians to learn how to organise and put on a gig. The week of learning and development ends with a live gig on Friday.

Kensington Arts remains a cornerstone for youth creativity on the Isle of Man, providing inclusive, affordable access to high-quality arts programming throughout the year. This summer’s line-up continues that mission, with something to inspire every young person, from emerging visual artists to future storytellers and performers.
