SoundCheck is an inclusive and welcoming music project that nurtures and promotes musicians Island wide. The project has weekly drop-in sessions, as well as 1:1 music mentor sessions, and produces regular live events.
The SoundCheck Project:
If you’ve ever wondered where the next wave of Isle of Man music talent is coming from, look no further than SoundCheck. Kensington Arts’ longest-standing project, SoundCheck is more than a rehearsal space—it’s a creative hub where musicians of all ages learn, collaborate, and perform. From first chords to festival stages, SoundCheck has been the catalyst for countless band success stories.
SoundCheck’s mission as a development project is simple: give budding musicians the tools, space, and support to thrive. Weekly drop-in sessions at Kensington Arts offer a ‘no pressure’, friendly environment where you can bring your own instrument with you or try out one of ours (we have lots!). You don’t need to be a musician to get involved, the only requirement is a love for music!
In addition to our weekly drop-in sessions, our 1:1 and band mentor programme helps young artists develop their unique sound and style, progress their craft, and grow their confidence with the support and guidance from one of our Music Mentors. The Mentors themselves are professional musicians in current, local bands.
