Drop-in creative writing workshops for adults. These relaxed sessions will help you explore all aspects of creative writing.
“Since starting the Creative Writing workshops as a non creative writer, I now consider myself a writer. This is due to Jo’s setting of excellent creative tasks, then giving constructive feedback, encouragement and guidance to improve my writing skills. Also, all the members of the group offer, good humoured support, helpful tips and inspiration.”– Session attendee, Christine
Whether you’re a complete beginner or a seasoned writer, we have just the place for you. If you love poetry, short stories/flash fiction, or songwriting – or perhaps you want to explore starting that novel you’ve had in your head for years, we will help you find your voice.
Our space accommodates all ‘writing spot’ preferences; sit around the table and take part in writing prompts and exercises (guided by our experienced tutor), or curl up on the sofa and write at your own pace. Collaborate, participate, cogitate: but don’t worry, you don’t have to read any of your work out loud unless you want to.
The first session is free as a ‘taster’ and all sessions thereafter are £3 payable in cash. Or you can purchase 3x sessions in advance here. There is no need to pre-register – just turn up!
*Young people aged 16-18 who are interested in taking part can also be accepted on a case by case basis. Please get in touch if this applies to you.
