What is it?

Drop-in creative writing workshops for all abilities, for ages 10 plus.


These after school sessions focus on all aspects of creative writing, including poetry, prose, songwriting, and scriptwriting. They cover a wide range of writing styles and genres; whether you want to write the next bestseller, the next No.1hit, or simply like to jot down and untangle your thoughts at the end of the day – we’ll help you discover your creative flair! All abilities are welcome: all you need is the desire to get writing!

The first session is free as a ‘taster’ and all sessions thereafter are £3 payable in cash.

There is no need to pre-register – just turn up! You will be asked to fill out a membership form upon arrival. Membership forms must be renewed annually.

Who will be leading the workshops?

Jo Smith is a writer, teacher and proof-reader. She lectured in English Lit, Media Studies, Mythology, Drama, Gender Studies at Manchester Met. She also tutors, organises literary events, writes poetry, short stories, children’s books, and is also working on a novel.
