• Performance Art Bootcamp

Our one week intensive will activate your inner artist! Open to ages 11 – 18, or up to 21 years for those in full-time education. This new and exciting programme is ideal for anyone interested in contemporary and experimental theatre or performance art. You’ll be working with other creatives your age on a shared project focused on nature, wild things, and how you want to change the world.

Imagining a Better Future, a poem written by Fiona Gell, will inspire the collaborative week of learning. Fiona Gell is a marine biologist, environmental policy specialist and writer. During the week, you will learn how to collaborate creatively using voice, movement and self-expression and have the opportunity to discuss the marine themed poem with the writer herself. Saturday will culminate in a showcase of the week’s work and the performance will be a ‘work in progress’ piece, centered around imagination and change for our unique UNESCO biosphere and the world. Family and friends will be invited to watch the performance.

The week will focus on process rather than a prescribed outcome. You will take part in a series of exercises that are participant/group led, allowing you to have fun and uncover your own hidden strengths. The sessions will give you a space to learn, grow and experiment. No previous experience required, just enthusiasm to learn and develop!

Are you considering a career in the Arts or thinking about undertaking an Arts degree? E.g. in Acting; Drama; Dance; Musical Theatre; Experimental Arts and Performance; Production Technologies; Fine Art, etc… then this programme is ideal for you! You will get a crash course in performance art and leave with a much better understanding of what type of creative pursuits you are most interested in. The team will nurture your development and mentor you. Just £150 (equivalent to just £25 a day).
