Varied Voices, a choir led by Naomi Longhurst, is excited to announce its next session taking place on January 25th at 5pm at the Theatre at Kensington Arts on Kensington Road. The choir focuses on musical diversity and covers a wide range of musical tastes and styles, with something for everyone.
“We are thrilled to be able to offer such a unique and diverse choir experience,” said Naomi Longhurst, the choir leader. “We welcome all abilities, ages, and voice types. Whether you love singing pop, musical theatre, classical, folk, or anything in between, there’s something for everyone.”
Varied Voices encourages a supportive and inclusive atmosphere, with the goal of creating an enjoyable and rewarding experience for all members. The choir is open to anyone who loves to sing, regardless of age, experience or skill level. The first session is completely free, providing an opportunity to try out the choir without any commitment. Subsequent sessions are only £2, making it an affordable and accessible option for those who wish to sing for fun.
Peter Shimmin, the Creative Development Co-Ordinator at Kensington Arts said, “We believe that the arts should be accessible to everyone. By expanding our remit to include programmes like ‘Varied Voices’, we look forward to welcoming anyone, no matter their age, background or musical knowledge, to experience the power and joy of music.“
There is no need to register or sign up in advance, making it a casual and stress-free experience. Participants are welcome to just come and sing whenever they would like.
The choir sessions run fortnightly and are a great opportunity to meet new people, build confidence, and develop singing skills. The sessions are held in a relaxed and friendly environment, with no auditions or pressure to perform.
